Chester - Nov 7-8 - People of Pocahontas - Living history interpreters will re-enact Powhatan Indian and English Colonist encounters, both pre- and post-English contact during the period 1607 – 1622. Encounter experiences will contrast Powhatan and English military, home life, agriculture and technology. Powhatan interpreters will demonstrate deer processing, open fire cooking and manufacturing.

Ashland - Nov 14 - Train Day on the Tracks - Ashland's 7th annual "TRAIN DAY ON THE TRACKS" is fun for the whole family. Located along Railroad Avenue the day includes: Operating train layouts and train displays at the Ashland Library, the Arts & Activities Center, and the RF&P Model Train Club; The ever favorite "Drag Racing Engines" brought to you by Train Town Toy & Hobby; Musical entertainment; Kids rides; Trolley rides.

Portsmouth - Nov 7 - Native American Heritage Day at the Children's Museum of Virginia - Explore the culture and traditions of Native Americans through songs, dancing, games and crafts.

Hampton - Nov 21 - Get Hooked on Hampton Rockfish Tournament & Oyster Bash Block Party - Hampton's premiere cold-weather tournament and festival. An Oyster Bash is held in conjunction with the fishing tournament. Norfolk - Nov 21 - Grand Illumination Parade - Downtown Norfolk - Festivities begin with the Grand Illumination of the Downtown Norfolk and Olde Towne Portsmouth skylines, when 100,000 voices along the Grand Illumination Parade Route will take part in a community countdown. The skylines stretch nearly 20 miles to light up our favorite holidays. The illumination signals the start of the parade in Norfolk, filled with festive and lighted floats, marching bands, giant balloons, decorated vehicles, dancers, and, of course, Santa Claus.

Williamsburg - Nov 26-28 - Foods & Feasts of Colonial Virginia - Explore 17th- and 18th-century culinary practices of Virginia during this three-day event beginning on Thanksgiving Day. Jamestown Settlement & Yorktown Victory Center.

Williamsburg - Nov 27-29 - Christmas Town at Busch Gardens - On every street corner you’ll hear the sounds of the season. From traditional Christmas favorites in Banbury Cross - England, to country-style classics in New France and Celtic sounds in the streets of Killarney - Ireland, this is the music you love.  And it’s a place where you can also ride some of your favorite rides.

Eastern Shore

Chincoteague Island - Nov 14 - Native American Festival - The Chincoteague Cultural Alliance sponsors the annual Native American Festival on Veterans Day weekend each year. Members of regional tribes such as the Accohannocks and the Nause-Waiwash, among others, celebrate with music, dance and demonstrations of a variety of native crafts. The day generally begins with an honoring ceremony that honors all veterans, native and non-native.

Chincoteague Island - Nov 21-29 - Assateague Island Waterfowl Week - Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge holds open house for a week. There will be a variety of ongoing programs and events. Special guided walks and tours will be available on trails that are normally closed to the public. This week is a delight for birders and photographers since migration is at its peak.

Cape Charles - Nov 28 - Cape Charles Museum Annual Oyster Roast - Gather around the bonfire and listen to live blue grass music, served up with oysters on the half shell or cooked, homemade chowder, and all the fixins' and libations too.

Rocky Mount - Nov 7 - Music & More on The Crooked Road - Music, Cars & More on The Crooked Road. Season ending event at The Eastern Gateway to The Crooked Road, beginning in Rocky Mount at 10 a.m. Head out VA 40 West on The Crooked Road to Sheriff Shively's Storehouse for more. Bring your lawn chair, musical instrument, vintage automobile. Y'all come!

Stuart - Nov 7 - Xperience Youth Rally - The Xperience Youth Rally is being held Nov. 7th at Patrick County High School at 6pm. The message is being delivered by Jason Kerr. Entertainment includes the Christian recording artist Echoing Angels and the PCHS Praise & Worship Team. Free admission, free entertainment and free food.

Floyd - Nov 27-29 - 16 Hands Studio Tour - The craftsmen of 16 Hands have welcomed visitors into their studios twice yearly since 1998. Detailed maps will guide you along the scenic roads connecting one artist's location to another in and around the Blue Ridge Parkway in Soutwestern Virginia. On display you will see the best of their pottery and woodworking. This tour is self-guided and free.
