Chester - Nov 7-8 - People of Pocahontas - Living history interpreters will re-enact Powhatan Indian and English Colonist encounters, both pre- and post-English contact during the period 1607 – 1622. Encounter experiences will contrast Powhatan and English military, home life, agriculture and technology. Powhatan interpreters will demonstrate deer processing, open fire cooking and manufacturing.

Ashland - Nov 14 - Train Day on the Tracks - Ashland's 7th annual "TRAIN DAY ON THE TRACKS" is fun for the whole family. Christmas Town at Busch Gardens

Norfolk - Nov 21 - Grand Illumination Parade - Downtown Norfolk - Festivities begin with the Grand Illumination of the Downtown Norfolk and Olde Towne Portsmouth skylines, when 100,000 voices along the Grand Illumination Parade Route will take part in a community countdown. The skylines stretch nearly 20 miles to light up our favorite holidays. The illumination signals the start of the parade in Norfolk, filled with festive and lighted floats, marching bands, giant balloons, decorated vehicles, dancers, and, of course, Santa Claus.

Chincoteague Island - Nov 14 - Native American Festival - The Chincoteague Cultural Alliance sponsors the annual Native American Festival on Veterans Day weekend each year. Members of regional tribes such as the Accohannocks and the Nause-Waiwash, among others, celebrate with music, dance and demonstrations of a variety of native crafts. The day generally begins with an honoring ceremony that honors all veterans, native and non-native.

Chincoteague Island - Nov 21-29 - Assateague Island Waterfowl Week - Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge holds open house for a week. There will be a variety of ongoing programs and events. Special guided walks and tours will be available on trails that are normally closed to the public. This week is a delight for birders and photographers since migration is at its peak.

Cape Charles - Nov 28 - Cape Charles Museum Annual Oyster Roast - Gather around the bonfire and listen to live blue grass music, served up with oysters on the half shell or cooked, homemade chowder, and all the fixins' and libations too.

Floyd - Nov 27-29 - 16 Hands Studio Tour - The craftsmen of 16 Hands have welcomed visitors into their studios twice yearly since 1998. Detailed maps will guide you along the scenic roads connecting one artist's location to another in and around the Blue Ridge Parkway in Soutwestern Virginia. On display you will see the best of their pottery and woodworking. This tour is self-guided and free.
